Meet the women redefining what it means to run a modern fleet.

Fleet management isn’t just about vehicles, it’s about people, relationships, and operational excellence. At Motorlease, that philosophy is more than a tagline; it’s a lived culture. Two of the women helping to shape that culture — Amanda Mainville, Director of Client Relations and Janice Gucciardi, Marketing Lead, are proving that leadership grounded in clarity, collaboration and strong communication can drive powerful business results.

A Culture Built on People and Purpose

At the heart of Motorlease’s success is a culture rooted in genuine care — for clients, drivers, and each other. “We believe that people are at the heart of every fleet decision,” said Janice Gucciardi. “That philosophy drives what we do and how we work every day.”

In marketing, Janice plays a key role in translating that culture into the company’s external story. “From a marketing perspective, my role is to help ensure that the trust and personal attention our teams deliver behind the scenes are reflected in every message we share externally,” she explained. “It’s about making the Motorlease difference visible by highlighting not just what we do, but how we do it.”

Janice points to storytelling as a powerful tool: “Through our case studies, newsletters, and digital campaigns, we spotlight real examples of collaboration and problem-solving between our teams and clients. Every piece of communication reflects our people-first mindset, because that’s what builds trust and lasting partnerships.”

That same commitment to care defines how Motorlease’s customer-facing teams operate. Amanda Mainville, who works directly with clients and their drivers, said the company’s collaborative culture is the reason the service experience feels so personal. “Just because an answer works today doesn’t mean it’s the right one a week from now,” she said. “We’re constantly looking at how to make things better — faster responses, better communication, and creative solutions. Everyone here feels empowered to step in and help, whether it’s their account or not.”

Delivering a Personalized Experience

That collaboration comes to life when new clients join Motorlease. “Switching to a new fleet management company is a big lift,” said Amanda. “We work hard to make sure our clients don’t feel that burden. Setting expectations early, keeping communication open, and showing excitement for the partnership makes all the difference.”

She emphasized that onboarding is where relationships are built. “Those first days matter so much. It’s our chance to show that we’re going to make their lives easier. Clients coming from larger fleet management companies are often surprised when we tell them, ‘You don’t have to do it all yourself. Call us, and we’ll handle it.’ That’s when they realize what personalized service really feels like.”

That high-touch approach extends beyond onboarding. Amanda makes a point of getting to know clients personally, remembering milestones, sharing stories, and building genuine trust. “I want them to feel comfortable calling me about anything,” she said. “That connection makes us all more invested. Even when something goes off track, they know we’re doing everything we can to make it right.”

Janice sees her role as complementing that hands-on service. “Education is a big part of how we serve,” she said. “We don’t just want to manage fleets, we want to empower businesses to make confident, informed decisions.” Through newsletters, thought leadership, and resources like Fleet Talk with Joe, her team provides insights that help clients improve safety, operational efficiency, and driver satisfaction — whether or not they’re already Motorlease customers.

The Impact of Women in Fleet Leadership

As women leaders in a traditionally male-dominated field, both Janice and Amanda bring perspectives that shape how Motorlease operates and communicates.

“I think enthusiasm and perspective are powerful tools in leadership,” said Janice. “I focus on connecting the dots between people and performance — understanding what clients and drivers need on a human level and translating that into communications that inspire trust.”

For Amanda, empathy and communication are key. “It’s about living the day-to-day experiences our drivers and fleet contacts are living,” she said. “My job is to be their voice internally and make sure their challenges are understood. Clear, consistent communication, internally and externally, keeps everyone aligned.”

Perspective matters — maybe more than we realize. Nearly 24% of the drivers we support are women. As the driver demographic continues to evolve, it’s essential that decisions reflect the real experiences and expectations of the people behind the wheel.

Janice sees tremendous value in diversity of thought. “When different perspectives come together, you challenge assumptions and find better solutions,” said Janice. “It makes your service more adaptive, more human, and ultimately more impactful.”

Looking Ahead: A More Inclusive Future for Fleet

The fleet industry is evolving, and more women are stepping into leadership roles than ever before, something Amanda has witnessed firsthand through her involvement in Women in Fleet Management (WIFM), a mentorship initiative within AFLA. “It’s growing rapidly,” she said. “This year, there were over 200 first-time attendees at the conference. The mentorship programs, for both women and men, are helping build equity and representation across the industry. It’s exciting to see where it’s headed.”

Janice agrees that the future of leadership in fleet management is about balancing business insight with authenticity. “For women and diverse leaders, the biggest opportunity is visibility and voice — not just managing the work, but shaping the conversation around it,” she said. “Modern leadership is about combining strategy, clarity and direction with heart. That’s exactly what the next generation of fleet management will be defined by.”

Defining the Motorlease Difference

When asked what makes Motorlease’s approach unique, both women point to the same thing: relationships. “Our tagline really defines us,” said Janice. “With every client, every driver, every interaction — it all matters.”

Amanda put it simply: “One size doesn’t fit all. We customize our approach to meet each client where they are. That flexibility, and the culture that supports it, is what keeps our clients moving forward with confidence.”
